Whistler and Squamish: A photostory

Whistler.

It’s a big word with a lot of hype.  A-Line, Dirt Merchant, Schleyer, etc…  This is what folks think when they are talking about Whistler.  The ski hill can be alluring, especially when you drive a long distance, and don’t get to ride there often.  For years and years the park was all I ever rode.  It was great, lap after lap till my arms wanted to fall off.  However, like everything, change keeps things fresh.  The EWS stop last year opened up a lot of peoples eyes to the amazing network of trail that the Whistler Valley contains.  Furthermore, the small town of Squamish is often overlooked even more, and has trails the rival of any in the world.  So when the opportunity comes up to have a local show you the ropes, you jump at it.

It always starts with a view.

Then things get silly...

The climbs around here can be brutal, especially in the full sun.

This valley is literally covered in trails. This one was nestled above Alta Lake with a view of the bike park.

After a full day of Whistler shred, a hearty breakfast is needed to prepare for Squamish.

The rocks around Squamish are long and steep. No pic does them justice.

The look of a bunch of rad about to happen.

Which is even gnarlier when you know that at this point there is no stopping, slowing down, or seeing into the darkness.

Almost out. Did I mention there are some rocks here?

Come to BC.  Ride a bike.  Get gnarly.  It’s going to be fun.

Thanks to Greg for the guidance, Royal, Industry 9, Banshee Bikes, Race Face, 100%, Fox Racing Shox, and Hi-5 Bikes for making this stuff happen!
